En effet, avec Ainsi-soit je, son deuxime album paru en 1988, que la chanteuse crit sur des compositions de son pygmalion et compagnon Laurent Boutonnat, le dcor farmrien est plant. Elle y vivra et y chantera durant des annes : la difficult de grandir et de choisir un sexe ("Sans contrefaon"), la provocation en matire de sexualit ("Pourvu qu'elles soient douces"), le droit l'erreur et au contresens ("Sans logique"), la mlancolie ("La Ronde triste") et l'attrait du noir, de la torture et de la mort ("Allan", "Jardin de Vienne"). Grce ces chansons, clipes comme des courts-mtrages en 16 voire 35 mm par Laurent Boutonnat, Mylne fidlise un public de fans issus de la gnration dsenchante qu'elle chantera ensuite si bien. On apprciera tout particulirement "L'Horloge", un pome de Beaudelaire mis en musique, et "Dshabillez-moi", la reprise du succs de Juliette Grco. 1988, c'est aussi l'poque o son diteur et manager est Bertrand Lepage, un fan de Sylvie Vartan.
